There is an airport in Portland and a smaller one here in Eugene. There is also an Amtrak station and a Greyhound station in Eugene. Places to stay free here are limited unless you'd like to camp on our lawn, which is really beautiful =).
The amazing Oregon Coast is only an hour away and there are tons of beautiful affordable places to stay there and enjoy the ocean. You can also rent beach houses with a group and split up the costs. It usually makes the cost per person less than renting a hotel and you get to stay in an actual house. It's very cool!
This is a mostly family only event, due to both of us having such huge families. If you encounter someone who hasn't gotten an invite, please explain that we are limited on how many people we can have beyond family.
Due to the outdoor nature of the wedding I urge you to please avoid high heel shoes. There will be a sectioned off area that the children can play in so bring coloring books, toys, etc. Enough to last them about a half an hour. Bring and wear sunscreen.
Also, please plan for your pets to stay home or at a local pet hotel. It's not that we aren't pet friendly, we just have a large lot of land with no fence and we are right on the road on one side and the river on the other.
If your little one is not nimble with cups please remember to bring a sippy cup or a cup that they are used to that has their name on it.
***Please keep your children in sectioned off wedding areas. Our house is on the road and we have people who drive very fast around the corners****
